William G. Johnsson . Seventh-day Adventists accept the unity of Scripture as a biblically supported principle because the Holy Spirit is the essential author of its documents. Thus, it is legitimate to synthesize the Bible’s doctrinal teachings from the total corpus of Scripture (see Jesus’ method, Luke 24:27, 44). On the other hand we recognize each book and letter of the Bible has its own standing, its own line of reasoning that must be respected.
